Colonel Miles Quaritch in a rare moment of conversation with Jake Sully. According to those close to the Colonel, the nature of Miles and Sully's friendship was akin to that of "father and son." Sully's subsequent rebellion and betrayal of Miles (as well as the human race) in his defection to the Na'vi was a monumental blow from which he never fully recovered.
